BROKEN IS THE BREAD

Crimson drops like wine
Though he knew no crime
Soon he would be dead
Broken is the bread

Hung upon a tree
It really should be me
But it was him instead
Broken is the bread

How could he bear my shame?
The agony, the pain?
"Forgive them all", he said
Broken is the bread!

Hewn from cold, hard stone
A tomb to be his home
Three days, the grave would say,
"This one, he won't decay!"

And it spewed him out
Yeah, it spewed him out
He's alive again without a doubt
Hallelujah, Christ is risen
Death defeated, sins forgiven

So eat the bread, drink the wine
Come partake of the Divine One
Rise up now from your grave
And live the new life that he gave you

Hallelujah, Christ is risen
Death defeated, I'm forgiven
Feel the presence of his glory
As you tell your gospel story

So eat the bread, drink the wine
Come partake of the Divine One
Rise up now from your grave
And live the new life that he gave you

Hallelujah, Christ is risen
Death defeated, I'm forgiven
Hallelujah, Christ is risen
Death defeated, I'm forgiven
